Sorry, but we're having to close again!
In view of the latest restrictions, we've taken the reluctant decision to close our doors once again for public worship - at least for the next few weeks.
It's a disappointment for all of us but we feel it is the only safe thing to do in the face of this more contagious form of the virus and with many of us still waiting for vaccination. However, we're determined to re-open as soon as it is safe to do so and we'll review the situation at the end of January. In the meantime, here are some other ways you can be with us...and us with you! Weekly service on-line
As we face a New Year with even stricter restrictions, we need a greater experience of God's presence, God's purposes and God's power at this time. The Rev Brian Hutton leads our circuit service this week as we look at the beautiful Psalm 139 and meet Brian in a empty church, as we bring our pandemic loneliness to God. Zoom in...
We now hold our 10:30 morning services using Zoom! It's a bit of an experiment but technology like this is one of God's gifts and we should rejoice in making use of it. Advent Service
When we planned our Programme we had hoped to be together at the Barnard Castle Methodist Church for our MWiB Advent Service. Covid restrictions made that impossible, but we are delighted to say that we still have an Advent Service from Barnard Castle and express our thanks to all from Barnard Castle & Teasdale Circuit who made this possible. Meet Graham!
The Rev Graham Cutler is our new Minister at The Pathway. This is what he says about himself:
"We have crossed the Pennines from glorious Lancashire to a place which is all very new to us, The Land of the Prince Bishops. With a long background as an electronics engineer in Research & Development, I have spent the last 19 years serving as Presbyter in two circuits in Lancashire. We are enjoying discovering this beautiful dale, along with my wife, Jude and our faithful dog, Boris. Jude and I have two adult children, Naomi and Nathanael, in whom we delight. Our reason for being here is simple: to share in the worship and work which the Lord has given to the churches here, namely to love as Jesus loves, to follow His Word (Matt.5:16-18 RSV) and to make disciples - fully committed followers of Christ. I have a deep appreciation of the traditional but a desire to communicate in the present. We have experienced such a warmth of welcome here and perhaps, over time, you will get used to my sense of humour (maybe?!) Blessings, Graham
